For older pets and animals with special dietary needs, a hotel stay calls for a little more patience and attention. With this service we shape the stay around their pace.

For senior cats and dogs

• A softer, thicker bed that is kinder to the joints
• A room in a quieter part of the wing
• More frequent checks through the day and close monitoring by our vet
• Short, gentle walks and plenty of rest
• Water, food and litter tray placed within easy reach

For special diets

If your pet eats a prescription food for kidney, digestive, allergy or weight management, we follow that diet exactly. Please bring enough food for the whole stay and give us portion sizes and mealtimes in writing. If your pet eats home-cooked food or needs special preparation, let's talk it through in advance. Because a sudden change of food can upset a sensitive stomach, bringing their usual food matters especially for older pets.

In older animals, appetite and water intake are among the most important signs of health. So we note how much they eat and drink every day, and if anything changes we let you — and, if needed, your own vet — know straight away. Older cats can take longer to adjust to new surroundings, so in the first days we give them time and keep a quiet, steady routine. Our aim is for your pet to feel as settled here as they do at home.
